Families

Au-pair is a single female or male with no dependants and between the ages of 17 to 28. Au-pairs come to the U.K. to learn the English language & culture and does light house work for which in return receives pocket money. Au-pairs should have their own room, free meals and should live as a part of the family. Au-pairs must be allowed time off to attend English language classes (Days or Nights).

Mothers help

Where the mother is at home with children, and she wants another pair of hands to help with the care of the children and home.

Typical duties includes:

Light house work.
Assist the mother with daily routine from the time the children gets up until they are in the bed.
Doing laundry, Light cleaning, assist with shopping.
Works up to 10 hours, 5 days per week
Baby sits 2-3 evenings per week
Receives at least 1 full free day and 3 evenings off
Are not expected to take sole charge of a new born or very young children.
Can live in or out. Live-out position: pay is £6.50+ per hour
minimum £130 – 35 hrs, £150 – 40 hrs, £180 – 45 hrs for Europeans
minimum £180 – 35 hrs, £210 – 40 hrs, £230 – 45

Nannies

Aupairka agency always have a very good selection of nannies to choose from. We interview our nannies in person, check their references and certificates thoroughly.

A nanny is a professional child carer, they take responsible care of your children.
They usually work 10-12 hours a day and usually have sole charge of your children. They often have some form of childcare qualification which contributes to a positive learning environment for your children

Live in Nanny:

Live in nannies should be treated as a part of the family. They usually do up to 2 babysitting nights a week.
They have two full days off per week. They are treated as an employee (usually 4 weeks of paid holidays, sick pay, maternity pay…all must be stated in contract between family and nanny) or they can be self employed.
Salary is £250-£450 net per week

Live out Nanny:

Full time nannies usually work from 8am – 6pm
Any babysitting is paid as an overtime.They are treated as an employee (usually 4 weeks of paid holidays, sick pay, maternity pay…all must be stated in contract between family and nanny) or they can be self employed.

Salary is £ 7.50 – £11 per hour Net (it depends up to nanny’s qualifications, experiences, location).
